The beginning of it all...

Join me on a journey of 10,655 miles to the land Down Under.
If you are reading this I suppose you know by now that 2024 is the start of a new adventure for me to the Land Down Under! Starting on February 3rd I will be enrolled at Moore Theological College where I will be taking on studies in Missions, Ministry and Bible.

I am really excited about this coming year, mixed with a bit of fear for the obvious reason that Australia appears to be, by all accounts, the home to the most deadliest creatures known to man! That being said, I am told the weather is fantastic right now and the people are kind and hospitable throughout the country. I hope to settle in quickly!
Ready or not...
The countdown is well and truly on! As previously mentioned this beginning seems mixed with excitement and fear but as Kvothe says in my favourite book:
“No man is brave that has never walked a hundred miles. If you want to know the truth of who you are, walk until not a person knows your name. Travel is the great leveler, the great teacher, bitter as medicine, crueler than mirror-glass. A long stretch of road will teach you more about yourself than a hundred years of quiet introspection.”
― Patrick Rothfuss, The Wise Man's Fear
There is much for me to learn about myself and my Lord on the road ahead. I am excited for the growth that awaits me on this journey but the fear that comes from big changes, uncertainty, and nerves, still lingers at times. Despite that, the truth is, I have a great comfort and hope in God who has made a profound promise and encouragement to us in his Word:
"Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”
― Deuteronomy 31:6
What an encouragement to know that God goes WITH me to a land unknown. I can take great comfort from this, even as I cry on the plane - which no doubt, is bound to happen!
So what's next?
Well, after flying home for Christmas, I am now enjoying an extended time with family in Bermuda. This week I will be working on a Safe Ministry Training Course online as a prerequisit to enrollment on February 3rd.
I will be flying back to Bristol on January 17th where I will finish packing for my big trip to Australia and say some last goodbyes to friends.
The epic 23 hour flight begins on January 29th. January 31st will be a day of settling in - picking up the keys for my accommodation, buying the essentials, and trying desperately to get over the jet lag!
Prayer Requests
Please be in prayer with me for the following things as I prepare to go:
That I would put all my hope and trust in Jesus especially in the face of change, uncertainty, and fear
That I would make the most of time with family and friends before flying out
That I would be dilgent in completing the online course for Safe Ministry Training
That I would be organised in my packing
That God would provide fully for my every financial, spiritual and physical need
That God would keep me from illness in the lead up to travel
That all travel plans would go smoothly
Thank you for your continued support in prayer!
In Christ Alone.
